Setup & Settings

The Setup area for an event has four tabs: Information, Content, Registration fields, and Settings. Use them to edit event details and control how registration and notifications work.

The Information and Content tabs mirror the fields you set in the creation wizard (Steps 1 and 2); use them to change those details after the event is created. Ticket categories are managed in Categories & Pricing, not in Setup. The Registration fields tab and Settings tab add post-creation options (custom form fields, registration dates, whitelist, fees, notifications, etc.).

  • Add, reorder, and delete fields.
  • For each field: label, type (text, dropdown, etc.), required or optional.

Settings tab

Within the Settings tab, settings are grouped into sub-tabs: General, Registration, Display, Fees, and Notifications. Change them and save.

Event page template (v2, v3, v4) is part of event settings (set via API/backend) and controls the layout of the public event page. When Seated is on, the frontend always uses the V4 template.

Event status

In the Settings tab you can change the Event status (e.g. Draft, Pending approval, Approved, Ongoing, Finished). The status dropdown only shows transitions allowed by the event lifecycle: for example, from Draft you can only move to Pending approval (request approval) unless your organization has Event auto approve on, in which case you can set any status. Approved and Rejected can only be set by a platform superuser when Event auto approve is off. See Event lifecycle for the full flow and who can change what.

Organization-level settings (superuser only)

Some settings are set at the organization level and can be edited only by platform superusers (e.g. in Organization settings). These include:

SettingDescription
Event auto approveWhen on, organizers can set an event’s status from Draft to any status (e.g. Approved, Ongoing) without superuser approval. When off, organizers can only request approval (Draft → Pending approval); a superuser must then Approve or Reject.
Require admin approval(If applicable) Whether the organization’s events require admin approval before going live.

The organization settings API and UI indicate whether the current user is a superuser; only then are these fields editable. Organizers see these options as read-only or hidden when they are not superusers.

Effect on event page and registration

The settings above directly affect what attendees see: live status and registration dates control when they can register; Whitelist only and Whitelist message determine who sees the registration form; Seated and event page template control the event page layout; On-page registration, Multi-category registration, and Collect individual information shape the registration and cart flow; Show remaining passes and Show remaining in percentage affect what is shown on the event page; Allow transfer ticket and Allow memories enable transfer and post-event actions. For a full mapping, see Settings to Attendee Experience.

Save your changes after editing. For categories and pricing, see Categories & Pricing.
